The Boa Constrictor lives in the Amazon Rainforest.  It stays in the canopy or the understory layer.  You can find the Boa in Northern Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Madagascar and other parts of the world.  It's a non-poisonous snake that eats rats, lizards, chickens, and many other mammals.  They only eat vertebrates.  They lay shelled eggs.  The Boa Constrictor is one of the most beautifully colored reptiles.  Many species are very attractively marked.  Their skin gets too tight and they will shed the skin.  It grows back in about two or three weeks.  It belongs to the same family as the python and the anaconda.  The Boa's life span is about 25 to 30 years.
