1. She was born February 22, 1975 in Los Angeles, California.  Her father was John Drew Barrymore, Jr. and her mother was Ildiko Jaid Barrymore.
2. When Drew Barrymore was a young girl she was short, overweight, had horrible acne and wore braces.  She was one of the geeks of her school.  The cheerleaders targeted her for mean jokes.
3. Drew Barrymore's acting started before she could even read the script.  She was the sweet little girl in E.T. at age seven.  But at age nine she was drinking in clubs until 3 a.m.  She then ended up in drug rehab, which was shown in her 1990 memoir Little Girls Lost.  Some people blamed her father for her mistakes because of the bad example he set for her.
4. When Barrymore was learning to read she would practice by reading to her teddy bear.
5. While on the set of E.T. Drew and director Steven Speilburg got into a huge fight.
6. Drew’s first big break was not E.T.; it was a puppy food commercial that she did when she was 11 months old.
7. At the auditions of E.T. the six year old charmed the casting crew with her imaginary stories of a punk rock band.
8. While in London at the E.T. premier, Drew hung out with Princess Diana and gave five-month-old Prince William her stuffed E.T.
9. When she was 19 she married Jeremy Thomas and she wore a white slip dress.  They divorced six weeks later.
10. In the movie Scream, rather than play Sidney, Barrymore found it more memorable to play a character who died in the first sequence.
11. While on drugs and alcohol, Drew ordered her mother, Jaid, out of the house.
12. This was when Jaid knew something had to be done about Drew’s problem.  She had several appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and became the youngest person to host Saturday Night Live.
13. Steven Speilburg is her godfather.
14. Barrymore founded her own production company, Flower Films, in 1994, and was first credited as executive producer in 1999 with the likable comedy Never Been Kissed, in which she also starred.
15. During the summer of 2000, Drew became engaged to the Canadian, Tom Green.  After many false wedding rumors, (started by Tom himself) they eloped in March of 2001.  They divorced six months later and the divorce was made final in October of 2002.
