My Heritage Day Postcard
by Kimberly

Dear   Grandpa,
I    was  in    class   learning    about  a      spinning
wheel.   I  learned   that  they  made   most of   their   own
clothes.  They   would   shear  the     sheep.  The   wool  was carded.
Then it   was     spun  into  yarn  on   a    large  wheel.
The  yarn  was   wound    onto   the   reel    into   coils   of
wool called  skeins.  This   sounds   like  a  lot   of   work.
I  go  to   WalMart  to   buy   my   clothes.   Grandpa    did
you   ever     use   a     spinning    wheel?
Heritage Day was great fun!

                                                  Love,
                                                   Kimberly
